Nice but remember our goal of winning state title #7.

Under Armour/IL High School Power Rankings  5/7/09

Baltimore, Md. — After a one week hiatus, the Gilman Greyhounds put in an inspired performance and got a huge late-season MIAA win over Calvert Hall, an effort for which they've been awarded the top spot in the Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse High School Power Rankings.

West Islip, last week's top team, was upset by perennial Suffolk County power Ward Melville, the most dramatic loss in a week that saw nine top 25 teams drop games. Because four of the losses came to ranked teams (and a number of the top competitors to break into the Power Rankings lost as well), only three teams dropped out this week.

Manhasset and Niskayuna made the biggest jumps up the list as they continue their winning ways, while Highland Park and Orchard Park enter the top 25 for the first time this season.

Back again are the Regional Rankings, taking a look at the 10 best squads from around the country.

Plus, new for 2009 are weekly regional notebooks to fill you in on all the big stories around the country. Click here if you're interested in writing one for IL.
